Mom on strike against kids

Roxanne Toussaint, a mother who has gone on strike against her children’s attitude, has moved into a tent on the front lawn of her north London, Ont., home.

Fed up with poor working conditions and bad attitudes, a mom here has gone on strike against her three kids.

After leaving instructions for her three kids to shape up, Roxanne Toussaint pitched a tent on the front lawn of her home.

“It has come to a head,” Toussaint said.

“There are days I want to rip my hair out and run down the street
naked,” added the single mom, who goes to school and works part-time in
home-care and house-cleaning.

What Toussaint wants is a calmer, cleaner
household. Until her kids come to her with “a plan in writing” how
they’ll help out, she vows to continue to picket out front.

In an interview, the kids concede they should help more. “We should behave more,” said Adrian, 14.

“We weren’t cleaning our rooms and they were really a mess,” agreed Charmaine, 10.

“We are going to start doing it.”

“I don’t like this,” said Kali, 8, her voice shaky. “I love her.”
